I’m thinking about getting hair extensions (just a row to add length to my hair). Is it true that braided extensions can cause mold to grow in your hair?
Ii need it to stay in if i dance, jump, do gymnastics, ect.
So Clip In or Braided?
you wont get mold in your hair, thats insane. clip ins are definately easier because you can take them out to do gymnastics and shower and they dont harm your hair. braided in extensions cause breakage to your hair and are difficult to wash your real hair with them. once you take them out you’ll need a lot of work done on ;your natural hair.
my mother had braided ones and i had clip ins. my mom begged me to cut them out of her hair a month after she got them because her head was itchy and dirty and hurt a lot. mine were easier and cheaper.
I couldn’t sleep last night because it was so painful. I just hope the pain goes away or else I’m gonna take them out!! Any advice?
call them and see how long it lasts and until then take some advil
rather than any other salon would they last just as long (2 months) or less, because my texture hair is different from african americans, its wavy but when straightened very soft straight and silky. would the extensions slip out? Because Their salons are way cheaper, to apply the extensions, it’d be 20-40 dollars, any other salon they want to charge be from 90-450 dollars! no glue in extensions! i heard that makes you bald!
So you want hair extensions? The best thing to probably do is get them sewn in, that way you won’t have to worry about them slipping out. With sew-in extensions your hair is braided and the tracts are sewn into the braids (youtube has some videos that show what they are). Nobody really does the glue anymore anyway…what African braiding place only charges $40-$50 for some extensions? That’s very rare…make sure it’s a legit place and they do really good work ’cause most African braiding shops charge a minimum of $100 for extensions, especially sew-ins, plus you gotta buy your own hair. Then again, I have no clue as to where you live or what shop you called, just make sure their work is up to par. Don’t wanna be lookin’ a hot mess. Hope this helps ya!
I haven’t done this in so long. <<
What should I do with my hair before I get the braids done?
-I’m washing my hair myself FOR SURE.
I’m meant … hair products o-o;
Usually just arrive with clean, dry hair.
Okay so since the extensions will be in for a period of time, I’d say do a deep conditioning to your hair 2-3 days before. Just remember while in braids that you still must take care of your hair and cleanse your scalp.

I am considering buying extensions, the kind that are sewn into a braid. Is this a mistake or an awesome decision? Please share your experience!! Thank you
sewing is the best way!!!!
ive had both but sewed in is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do guys get hair extensions? I’m trying to get my hair to grow faster and i’ve been told getting it braided with extensions helps by pulling at the roots…is this true? If not…is there a way to make my hair grow faster. It’s not even an inch thick yet so i know it couldn’t even get braided…i’m just trying to find out the quickest way. It takes my hair 6 months to grow into possible braid length.
I know what you mean, I know that guys can get extentions for cornrows because on an old MTV show where they make people look like a celebrity group I remember a guy needed to look like Omarion or something and they gave him extention cornrows. But if you want braids badly, just go to a shop where they do cornrows/weaves they will hook you up. The only thing is if people you know see you one week with short hair then cornrows the next they might know you have extentions but if that doesn’t matter I’d get them.
Mmm I love guys n cornrows
When i take out my braid extensions my hair becomes all tangled up in knots and stuff and it becomes really hard to take them out. So relaxing my hair is the only option that i know of, but i am trying to go natural after i take off the braids i am wearing now, so how would i take off knots and stuff without the relaxer.
So my question is:
Are there any other solutions besides relaxer?
yes!
1.patience
2.conditioner!
3.use a deep conditioner before or after you shampoo and rinse, making sure to detangle with a wide tooth comb
4.Do not try to detangle your hair when it is dry it’ll break!
5.After washing and conditioning use pure shea butter when hair is somewhat damp. And style.
Happy transitioning! Look to youtube if you need more advice or help!
