i have real hair extensions and i don’t want to spend a lot of money to get them sewed or glued in… i was just wondering if i could do anything myself to make them into clip in extensions? or if i can get a stylist to do it for me? if so, how much would that cost?
Use clips or something to just attach it to your real hair. Bobby pins, or flat clips that won’t ‘bulge’ … also, don’t get them glued in. It ruins your hair, it takes FOREVER, and it’s very expensive. It’s not worth it. You’re much better off to just clip the ones you have in, and let your hair grow naturally. If you can’t find anyway to clip them in, then you can just buy ones with clips already attached. I bought some from a local beauty supply shop. They are made of real hair, meaning that they are completely able to stand being brushed, dried, washed, straightened, curled..etc…they can usually find an exact match for your hair colour at the store, and you can buy them right there. You can buy them in various lengths as well. The only thing is, I wouldn’t want to dye them, so if you dye your hair, then they eventually wouldn’t match anymore. But they are great for the most part, they just take some getting use too, but they blend well and look great. Mine were about $112 or so at a place called Sally’s.

Do clip in extensions damage hair? How long does it take to put them in?
I’ve been thinking about getting clip in extensions a lot lately.
But a few people have told me that after using the extensions for a few years there hair started breaking and thinning out.
Most people said that it didn’t damage their hair but is there still that tiny chance it may damage the hair?
And how does it take to clip them in? My hair is way over my shoulders but I want enough clip in’s to make my hair past my chest, almost to my waist.
It takes minutes to have them put in any extensions worn excessively will cause hair loss. If you are considering wearing the clip on extensions then taking them out to give your hair a break then you should be ok. Avoid going to bed in them as you will loose your hair this way.
How often should you wash clip in extensions?
Hello
I have clip in extensions for a long time now but I never really wore them until recently. If you wear them daily, how often should you wash them? Also, what kind of treatments should you do on them to keep them soft and in good condition?
Thanks! <3
whenever it feels like they are getting greasy from being in ur hair so often
remember, use downward strokes when shampooing and conditioning. leave the conditioner in the hair for a few minutes, rinse it out, and let it air dry.

Can clip in extensions damage your hair?
I’ve just bought some clip in hair extensions and I searched around the internet and there are some sites which say clip in hair extensions can actually damage your hair badly etc, is this true?
They shouldnt damage your hair unless you pull them out of your head instead if carefully unclipping them. But otherwise no, they should not damage your hair at all.
How can i to detangle synthetic hair clip in extensions?
I have blonde synthetic hair extensions – clip ins (not real hair) at the bottom they have got really knotty tangled, is there anything i can do to detangle them?
Thankyou for your time x
I’ve already combed it – hasn’t worked and as much as id like to i cant straighten it i can’t because they will burn because it isnt real hair! lol
Ok. First of all, dont listen to XOx whatever. Do not straighten synthetic hair or it will melt. I would know. I’m african american and I use synthetic hair to braid my hair. What you should do is is Brush it out. Do not comb it, or put detangler in it, it just makes it worse. Next time, i would use human hair even though it’s a bit more expensive, or just follow these tips to keep synthetic hair tangle free. Also, do not wash it without following these instructons.
Washing:
Step 1
Fill the sink with cool water. Hot water can relax or remove curls placed in the hair by the manufacturer.
Step 2
Add two capfuls of shampoo for synthetic wigs/hair and immerse the hair in the water. Gently swish the hair in the water and soak for one to two minutes. This loosens any debris and reduces the need for rubbing, which promotes tangles.
Step 3
Rinse the hair with the water flowing in the direction the fibers are laid. Typically, this will be from the top of the hair, downward.
Step 4
Place the hair on a wig stand or lay it out on a large towel. Spray the hair with a leave-in conditioner and gently distribute the conditioner throughout the hair using your fingers.
Step 5
Brush the hair, once it is dry, starting at the ends and working upward.
Taking care of Synthetic hair/extensions:
brush the synthetic extensions with those instruments designed specifically for the hair. If these are not available, use a brush with rubber tips to prevent split ends.
Apply synthetic wig spray before brushing your extensions. Wig spray acts as a lubricant and helps to untangle the synthetic hair.
Brush the hair starting at the ends of the synthetic hair and working upwards to the scalp area. This prevents little tangles from converging with others below and creating larger tangles.
How to clip in extensions. (old)
I DON’T LOOK LIKE THIS ANYMORE. For those of you who asked for it. Feel free to ask questions either on here, myspace.com/babyquack, or formspring.me/keekster.
*Step One: Straighten your hair. This will help it to blend in with your extensions.
*Step Two: Brush your hair. You don’t really have to I guess, but it makes it look better in my opinion.
*Step Three: Make a horizontal part at the lowest section of your hair following the crown.
*Step Four: Use your strongest hair spray and tease along the part.
*Step Five: Brush your extensions to keep them in good shape. Clip them in along the horizontal part.
*Continue to repeat those step with however many tracks you choose to put in. When you are done, remember to blend your real hair in with your extensions to give the illusion that it’s your real hair.
*It’s a good idea to get a silk case (right corner of screen) to keep your extensions in to keep them in good shape.
*Don’t forget to layer your extensions so that you don’t just have your normal short hair and then really long hair. It will look stupid. Unless you cut your own hair, be sure to have a professional cut your extensions for you.
