How do you put long (22") clip-in extensions in short, layered hair?

I just bought some jessica simpson clip in hair extensions. My hair is really short and layered and i don’t want there to be chin length choppy hair, and then long un-choppy straight hair so that is looks uneven and wierd… any suggestions? thank you.

get them cut into your hair
the hairdresser can layer them
