MENDOZA 2008 EXPO BEAUTY HAIR SHOW beauty – curly hair extensions

Hey everyone. I was wearing my extensions and I thought why not make a video showing you how to wear your hair extensions and how to care for them properly. I only wear my hair extensions in the winter because like I said in the video, for me it’s too hot to wear them in the summer. I know this is a really long video but it is filled with important information. I hope that you all enjoy this video and you find it helpful of course. Enjoy!

Paddle Brush

Clips (from Sally’s Beauty Supply Store)
Hot Tools Curling Iron (1 1/4″ or1 1/2″)
BaByliss Pro Ceramic Curling Iron (1/2″)
100% 14″ Human Hair Extensions (Unsure of brand, sorry!)
JOICO Brilliant Shine Gloss

My Tips:

Tip #1 – When buying hair extensions make sure to match them to your NATURAL hair colour, not to your dyed hair colour because once the dye fades your extensions will look completely noticeable.

Tip #2 – Also, when you are purchasing your extensions make sure to get them one or two inches longer than you originally wanted them because once they are in your hair they look a lot shorter.

Tip #3 – If you are going to get hair extensions try to get real human hair ones. Synthetic hair extensions look more noticeable in your hair and they break really easily. In the long run if you have human hair extensions they will last you so much longer and they look a lot better and more natural.

Tip #4 – Once you have bought your extensions go to a hair stylist and get them cut. You don’t need to cut the length just cut your side pieces cut so they will frame your face and look a lot more natural.

Tip #5 – Use at least four pieces in your hair. Use two around the head, make sure they are spaced out by at least an inch. Also, use one piece of each side of your head so they give you extra volume and they blend everything together.

Tip #6 – When you are sewing on the clips double up the strands of hair so it looks thicker and it will blend it so much better. If you have super thick hair you will have to use a lot of pieces.

Tip #7 – ALWAYS use a heat protectant, always. This will ensure that your real hair and extensions are protected from the heat of a flat iron or a curling iron. Heat protectants also prevent split ends and breakage.

Tip #8 – When curling your extensions use a larger one for the whole head and then use a smaller curling iron for the front pieces so it frames your face and blends everything.

Tip #9 – When your clipping in the hair extensions make sure to back comb where the clips will be placed. This will make them feel less heavy and make them a lot more comfortable. Extensions can give you headaches if they are pulling on your hair and back combing will eliminate this problem!

Tip #10 – Try not to use a lot of hairspray when your wearing the extensions. Human hair extensions hold curls extremely well and they can be used about four or five times before they need to be re-curled. If you feel like they have lost their shape just touch up a couple pieces.

Tip #11 – Wash your extensions every month or two with a gentle shampoo and conditioner. Rise them out very well and comb them out with a wide tooth comb. Allow them to dry, mine take anywhere between 24-48 hours.

I know this might seem like a lot of steps and things to memorize but once you practice everything you will have it down in no time!

ok so this is my favourite hairstyle for the day time, when i want my fringe (bangs) off my face
oh btw my hair is just blow dried in this video i didnt use a straightner I LOVE MY NEW FRIZZ EASE SERUM !!!! usually after blow drying my hair would be the size of my bedroom !!
